Kyrgyz Republic is the most important transit country in Central Asia region, as the main freight transportation routes are located along its territory – both towards north-east (from Kazakhstan to Russia towards Tajikistan and Afghanistan), as well as towards southeast (connection of Central Asia with China).
Presently, the Kyrgyz Republic is a party to bilateral agreements on mutual support, encouragement and protection of investment (capital expenditure) with more than 20 countries, including countries such as USA, Germany, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, India, South Korea, the United Kingdom and others.
OJSC United Cement Group is an Open Joint Stock Company and is listed in the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange with 10.266M shares outstanding and price per share – 8.2645 KGS. The year 1964 is considered the beginning of the historical chronicle of the United Cement Group as a manufacturer of high-quality and sought-after products, which enjoyed success both inside the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad. During the existence of the plant from 1964 to 2018, 46 million tons of cement were produced. A cascade of hydroelectric power stations on the Naryn River, dams on the Talas and Sokuluk rivers, airports of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as buildings of the Baikonur aerospace complex were built on the cement of OJSC United Cement Group.
At the end of October 2000, Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods acquired a controlling stake in the Bishkeksut dairy. In 2002, production capacity was 8 tons of UHT milk per hour. Putting into the assortment of this category allowed to expand the volume of exports to neighboring countries – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. In 2010, PepsiCo acquired 66% of Wimm-Bill-Dann shares in amount of transactions about $ 3.8 billion. The shareholder value of Wimm-Bill-Dann was estimated at $ 5.2 billion. The acquisition of Wimm-Bill-Dann made PepsiCo the largest food and beverage company, a leader in the rapidly growing dairy category. The addition of Wimm-Bill-Dann products to the PepsiCo product portfolio was financially beneficial and made it possible to build a strong platform for further growth in the dairy product category.
In 1997 LLC “Bitel” was introduced to the Kyrgyz market and in 2006 under the brand “Bitel” LLC Sky Mobile began to provide communication services. In 2009 “Bitel” is rebranded to “Beeline” and in 2010 Sky Mobile LLC is a member of the VEON Ltd providing communication, data transmission, and Internet access in Kyrgyz Republic. As of December 2018, Beeline has 7.6M of customers with a mobile penetration rate at 123.2% operating in 63 stores including 4 743 point of sales. CJSC Finca Bank entered the Kyrgyz market in 1995 as a USAID program to support and provide low-income people with access to the goods and services required for business development and the enhancement of living standards. In 2003 FINCA Kyrgyz Republic is re-registered as Joint Stock Closed (CJSC) “FINCA Microcredit Company” and became a member of the Credit Information Bureau. In March 2015, the CJSC “FINCA Microcredit Company” obtains a banking license and is transformed into CJSC “FINCA Bank”, fully licensed to take deposits for the first time. By 2018, the bank holds more than USD 42 million in client deposits and increased its customer base to more than 100 000. Net profit of the bank in 2017 was 5.827 million USD.
Alliance Altyn LLC was registered in 2015 in Talas region, Kyrgyz Republic. It is a part of “Russkaya Platina” group. Alliance Altyn has a license for development of field “Jerooy” until 28 August 2035. From 2015 they started geological works and environmental engineering studies. They totally spent for these works 679.4 thousand USD. In years 2018-2031 Alliance Altyn plans open pit mining with output of 1.3 million tons of ore per year, 58.2 tons of gold. In years 2031-2043 they plan underground mining with output of 700 thousand of ore per year, 28.7 tons of gold. According to data of 2016, total spending for the project is 307 million USD.
Novotel Bishkek City Center is a part of Accor Group. Accor is a French company which was founded in 1967. It has over 4800 hotels in 100 countries with about 280,000 employees. In 2018, total revenue was about 3.61 bln. USD. Accor Group’s hotels are divided into classes like Sofitel (luxury hotels), Pullman (top class hotels), Novotel (middle class hotels), etc. The first Novotel was founded in 1967, in French city Lille. It had 62 one-typed rooms with area of 25 . And now, in 2019, Novotel is opening in Bishkek city. It offers leisure and business guests a comfortable accommodation and easy access to main attractions of the city with contemporary designed rooms. Centerra Gold is Canadian gold-mining company, which works on production of gold and copper. Its main asset is “Kumtor” gold mine, which is located in Kyrgyz Republic. Also, it owns “Mount Milligan” gold mine, which operates in British Columbia for many years. As of 2019, Centerra Gold stocks 14.2 million ounces of gold and 2.5 billion pounds of copper. In 2017, total revenue of the company was 2.1 billion USD with net profit 209.5 million USD. Centerra Gold is one of the most important companies for Kyrgyz Republic’s economy. It provides more than 3600 workplaces. From 1997 to 2018, in “Kumtor” gold mine were produced more than 12.1 million ounces of gold. Deposits of gold in “Kumtor” are estimated at 700 tons.
