On July 15, 2021, Minister Shykmamatov Alambet visited the free economic zone (hereinafter - SEZ) "Bishkek" (territory "Ak-Chiy"), where a meeting was held with the subjects of the SEZ.
During the meeting, the main problems hindering the full functioning of the activities of the subjects of the SEZ "Bishkek" were voiced, namely the payment of customs duties, taxation issues, possible increase in industrial tariffs, difficulties in raw material supplies with subsequent export of finished products, and many other significant issues.
In turn, the Minister informed that in fulfillment of the instruction of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Japarov S.N., on the reform of the activities of free economic zones in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry will carry out work on developing a Strategy for improving the operation of the SEZ for the medium term and a corresponding Roadmap for its implementation, as well as a new Law on SEZ, which will provide for the elimination of current conflicts and imperfections hindering the full operation.
