Today, the Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Farhat Iminov, held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Leslie Vigier.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of the investment climate in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the potential for implementing joint projects. Special attention was given to the existing American investment initiatives in the country.
The meeting reviewed specific examples of practical cooperation, including the implementation of the 'Makmal - Karakol' project within the framework of a 'project sandbox' involving the consortium All American Rail Group Global Infrastructure Partner LLC and the state enterprise Kyrgyz Temir Zholu. The project is strategically important for strengthening the country's transit potential.
The Ambassador expressed interest in further developing the partnership and emphasized the importance of facilitating procedural issues related to doing business and implementing projects.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the field of digital economy and cryptocurrencies. It was noted that in 2022, Kyrgyzstan adopted the KR Law 'On Virtual Assets', regulating the cryptocurrency sector. By the end of 2024, the turnover of cryptocurrencies in the country amounted to 7 billion US dollars. Kyrgyzstan is considered one of the flagships in Central Asia for the development of blockchain technologies, mining, AI, and digital assets.
