The Third International Conference on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is taking place in Bishkek on October 16-17.
List of PPP projects in the energy sector:
- Agreement on the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Chatkal cascade of small hydropower plants: Bashky-Terek, Korgon-Sai, Chunkurchak, and Aigyr-Djal on the Chatkal River with a total capacity of 160 MW, as well as the provision of additional irrigation for 1800 hectares of irrigated land as part of the project.
- Construction of a small hydropower plant on the Aral River in the Issyk-Kul region with a capacity of 1 MW, which not only provides for the generation of 4,000 kWh annually but also ensures drinking water for 7,000 local residents in the city of Cholpon-Ata;
- Construction of a small hydropower plant at the lower dam of the Papanskoye reservoir, with a total capacity of 25 MW and an electricity generation of 103 million kWh;
- A solar power plant with a capacity of 150 MW is planned to be built in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region. An international competition has been announced to attract a private investor.
