Agribusiness
General information
Agriculture is the backbone of Kyrgyzstan's economy, contributing 12% of GDP and employing over 25% of the population. The country has 1.4 million hectares of arable land and 9 million hectares of pastures — unique conditions for organic livestock and crop farming.
Kyrgyzstan is among the top three producers of beans and walnuts in Central Asia. Dairy and meat products are exported duty-free to EAEU countries. Demand for organic produce with international certification is growing.
The state is actively developing processing infrastructure: construction of logistics hubs, cold storage facilities and certification laboratories supported by EBRD and FAO.
