Investment Agreement Signed for Construction of Sokuluk HPP-3 and Tuyuk HPP

On March 27, 2026, an investment agreement was signed between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Sokuluk HPP-3 LLC for the implementation of the investment project "Construction of Sokuluk HPP-3 and Tuyuk HPP on the Sokuluk River and its tributaries located in the Sokuluk district of Chui region of the Kyrgyz Republic." The investment agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic by R. A. Sabirov, head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and on behalf of Sokuluk HPP-3 LLC by General Director N.R. Chiltenov. The project consists of several stages: The initial stage involves the construction and commissioning of hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of 15.6 MW on the Sokuluk and Tuyuk rivers. The expansion stages consider the possibility of constructing additional hydropower plants on the Akpay and Ashutor rivers, resulting in a total installed capacity of up to 21.0 MW. The volume of investments for the initial stage (HPPs on the Sokuluk and Tuyuk rivers) amounts to 1.5 billion soms. If the expansion stages are implemented (additional HPPs on the Akpay and Ashutor rivers), this amount may increase to 2.3 billion soms.
