A meeting was held with representatives of the BRICS Pay international project at the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meeting, the possibilities of establishing a BRICS Pay payment gateway aimed at creating modern infrastructure for cross-border retail (C2B) and corporate (B2B) settlements in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed.
The BRICS Pay project represents a decentralized digital payment system aimed at simplifying settlements between countries in the BRICS+ format. The platform enables secure and seamless payments in national currencies, ensuring rapid, reliable, and accessible financial transactions. The project aims to connect countries and users through modern payment infrastructure, ensuring the continuous conduct of international settlements.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the investment and infrastructure potential of introducing the BRICS Pay payment gateway in Kyrgyzstan. The representatives of the project also presented the technological architecture of the system and its operational business model.
Meirimbek Koichumanov, Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted that he is ready to assist in the implementation of the BRICS Pay payment gateway project in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the opportunities this initiative creates to enhance the country's investment attractiveness.
It was noted that the implementation of this project would provide a number of advantages for the Kyrgyz Republic. These include reducing dependence on external centralized payment systems, enhancing the integration process with the national payment infrastructure, and developing modern digital financial services.
