Today, March 4, the Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meerimbek Koichumanov, met with a World Bank mission led by Senior Infrastructure Finance Specialist Aditi Raina, as well as World Bank consultant Erkin Asrandiev.
During the meeting, issues regarding the development of projects for the Direct Negotiation of Public-Private Partnerships and the methodology for assessing budgetary support were discussed. These documents aim to enhance the transparency of procedures and attract quality private investments to national projects.
Meerimbek Koichumanov provided information on the outcomes of a recent technical seminar for representatives of government agencies. The seminar addressed fiscal control mechanisms and institutional accountability issues in implementing public-private partnership projects.
As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation between the National Agency, the PPP Center, and the World Bank Group.
The meeting took place within the framework of the current World Bank mission in the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at providing technical support to development institutions and improving the legal framework in the PPP sector.
