SEZ rules come from the Law on Free Economic Zones (as amended, including Law No. 211 of 31 December 2024, subject to official publication timelines) and the Tax Code (Chapter 58, Arts. 427–431). Confirm resident status and zone lists with SEZ directorates and the STS.
Preferential tax treatment applies to qualifying in-zone activity. Outside the zone, the general regime applies unless law says otherwise.
Recent amendments refined prohibited activities and definitions of SEZ subjects, including excisable goods and registration rules.
For zones such as Naryn, EAEU free-customs-zone rules may matter — applicability depends on zone status and goods flows.
