Today, on September 16, 2026, within the framework of President Sadyr Japarov's official visit to the Republic of Korea, the First Korea-Central Asia Business Summit titled "The Future of Cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Central Asia for Growth and Innovation" is taking place in Seoul.
The event is organized as part of the first Korea-Central Asia summit, bringing together representatives of government agencies, economic organizations, and business circles from the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries onto one platform. Participants are discussing issues related to expanding trade and investment cooperation, developing business ties, and implementing joint projects.
Representing Kyrgyzstan, Ravshanbek Sabirov, the head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, is participating in the summit. He is speaking at the first panel session dedicated to expanding trade and investment cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries.
Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding investment cooperation with the Republic of Korea and attracting Korean investments into priority sectors of the economy. We support the opening of the KOTRA representative office in Bishkek and consider this an important step in strengthening direct business ties between the two countries.

We also support the Korean side's initiative to establish a Korean Desk and are ready to create the necessary conditions for it to operate as an effective platform aimed at conducting direct dialogue with Korean businesses, integrating investment projects, and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

One of the important steps in this direction was the signing of a memorandum with the Korea Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation during the summit. Such interaction will help establish a new format for Korean-Kyrgyz technological partnership, introduce modern technologies, develop new productions, and implement joint investment projects.

During the session, participants are discussing promising directions for economic cooperation, opportunities for attracting investments, and issues related to further developing partnerships. The summit program also includes panel discussions on strategically important mineral resources and supply chains, industry, energy, infrastructure, and logistics.
