Deputy Head of the National Agency for Investments under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meirimbek Koichumanov, participates in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Digital Economy Forum – 2026, taking place from September 14-16, 2026, in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.
The forum is co-organized by the State Administration for Information of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, bringing together nearly 500 participants, including representatives of government agencies from SCO member states, international organizations, leading companies, universities, analytical centers, as well as experts and scholars.
The forum addresses issues such as the development of digital infrastructure and digital trade, the use of artificial intelligence, the digitization of industry, data management, the formation of common relations and standards in the digital space, as well as training personnel and expanding practical cooperation among SCO member states.
During the event, Meirimbek Koichumanov spoke at the thematic forum on digital governance and potential development, introducing the investment potential of the digital economy in the Kyrgyz Republic. Special attention was given to attracting investments in digital infrastructure, implementing modern technological solutions, and opportunities for joint investment projects.
Additionally, the Deputy Head of the National Agency spoke at the session titled 'Joint Consultation on Cooperation Priorities through Dialogue and Exchanges.' In his speech, he emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz Republic in expanding investment cooperation with SCO countries, establishing direct contacts with potential investors and technology companies, as well as promoting joint projects in promising areas of the digital economy.
