Today, August 27, a tripartite agreement on public-private partnership for the implementation of the "Baytik Mountain Resort" project, which will operate year-round, was signed at the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The document was established between the Open Joint Stock Company for the Support of Tourism Development in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Limited Liability Company "Valmont Group", and the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The project aims to create a modern, year-round mountain tourism cluster in the territory of Kashka-Suu village in Chui region. It will include ski and tourist infrastructure, cable cars, ski slopes equipped with artificial snowmaking systems, summer recreation areas, hotel complexes, restaurants, SPA complexes, MICE centers, family and active recreation facilities, as well as engineering, transport, and digital infrastructure.
The total cost of the project is $127.9 million. Its financing will be carried out through the EPC+F model financing from the China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), loan funds from the Aiyl Bank OJSC, the private partner's own funds, and other sources not prohibited by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"Signing this agreement is an important step in implementing a major investment project in the tourism sector. We believe that the Baytik Mountain Resort will become a modern, year-round recreation center for tourists, contributing to the region's development, creating new jobs, and attracting investment. It is important for us that large projects are implemented using modern technologies and provide long-term socio-economic results," said Ravshanbek Sabirov, head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the construction phase of the project, at least 1,500 jobs are planned to be created, and after the facility is put into operation, at least 800 permanent jobs are expected to be provided, with at least 80 percent of these jobs allocated for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The project also includes the introduction of a Smart Resort digital management system, energy-saving solutions, renewable energy sources, and modern ecological technologies.
The private partner will take on obligations for financing, construction, equipping, commissioning, and further technical maintenance of the project. The project will be implemented in phases, with the first phase of infrastructure planned to be put into operation within 4-5 years.
The Baytik Mountain Resort will be one of the major projects aimed at developing Kyrgyzstan's tourism infrastructure, enhancing the country's potential as a year-round tourist destination, creating new jobs, and attracting long-term investments.
