The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon participated today, July 8, in a ceremony to resume the operation of the Todzharon (Lakhsh River) - Karamyk (Chon-Alai River, Osh region) checkpoints on the state border of the two countries via video link.
The event is held as part of President Sadyr Japarov's state visit to Tajikistan.
The heads of the border agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reported full readiness to resume the functioning of the checkpoints.
After listening to the report, President Sadyr Japarov issued an order to start the operation of the checkpoint, after which the barriers were raised on the Kyrgyz side.
Then, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon ordered the resumption of the checkpoint's operation on the territory of Tajikistan, and the barriers were raised.
