On March 29, 2022, R.A. Sabirov, Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and A.O. Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, participate in the 8th World Summit of Governments in Dubai City.

At this summit the Kyrgyz side made a presentation on the investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic, the opportunities of the republic in the export of organic agricultural products, digitalization, hydropower potential and the potential of the Kyrgyz Republic to become a transit hub of the Central Asian region.

         For reference: The 8th World Summit of Governments brought together leaders of 140 countries (2000 participants) to discuss issues in the financial, economic and social spheres to exchange experiences, knowledge and ideas that contribute to the formation of the future governments.

         The forum also includes a variety of workshops, 110 sessions, and initiatives aimed at highlighting the latest trends and best practices in government leadership, as well as innovative solutions for anticipating global challenges.

         From the first summit in 2013 through 2019, more than 1,000 sessions and workshops have been held. The seven summits were attended by 25,000 members from around the world and nearly 1,000 global speakers, primarily presidents, government leaders, ministers, officials, executives, experts, academics, and leaders from the public and private sectors.

         At the conclusion of the first day of the 8th World Summit of Governments. R.A. Sabirov, director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, visited the Dubai Expo 2020.

         The world exhibition “Dubai Expo – 2020” takes place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 in Dubai and is an unprecedented event on a scale, which is organized for the first time in the history of the Middle East and South Asia region. More than 190 countries take part in the event, presenting the architecture, culture and innovations of their states.

         At the same time, during the 8th meeting of the World Summit of Governments in Dubai, the meeting of the Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic R.A. Sabirov with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Suhail Mohamed Al-Mazroui was held.

On March 28, 2022, during the meeting the Director spoke about the investment opportunities and energy potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss energy issues, investment in hydropower projects from 360 to 440 MW, planned for implementation in the period from 2020 to 2030 in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In the context of the development of bilateral investment cooperation in the energy sector, R.A. Sabirov presented major energy projects of the Kyrgyz Republic and informed about the ongoing measures to increase the role of renewable energy sources in the Kyrgyz Republic to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 on the platform of “green development”.
