On the 2nd of March 2017 the President of the Japanese corporation “Tokyo Rope MFG Co. Ltd”
Mr. Tanaka made an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in order to discuss potential opportunities for investment collaboration, as well as possibilities to enter its market.
In the course of the official visit, Mr. Tanaka had a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Kozhoshev. The outcome of the meeting was the signing of Memorandum between Mr. Tanaka and Head of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic (Agency) Mr. Orozbekov.
The prime objective of signed Memorandum was devoted to the successful implementation of the investment projects, related to the production and installment of ultrastrong steel networks, ropes, and other relevant constructions, necessary to prevent or eliminate emergency situations.
Increased awareness and interest regarding the market of the Kyrgyz Republic occurred after the successful arrangement of the first Japanese-Kyrgyz Business Forum (Forum) held on the 5th of October 2016 in the city of Bishkek. The Forum was arranged by the Agency, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, and Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Among the most notable participants of the Forum were the largest 20 companies of Japan, including the “Tokyo Rope” corporation.
Additionally, in the course of the meeting the Minister emphasized several important achievements.
In particular, Mr. Kozhoshev highlighted the importance of official visits of the Kyrgyzstan’s President Mr. Almazbek Atambaev to Japan in 2013 and Japanese Prime-Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe to Kyrgyzstan in 2015. Previously mentioned official visits made a strong impact on strengthening the intergovernmental cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan. Moreover, the Minister indicated the successful implementation of the Forum, making a special emphasis on the Japanese achievements in development and construction of the first-grade infrastructural facilities. Mr. Kozhoshev added that “Tokyo Rope’s” operations on the Kyrgyzstan’s market would induce cardinal quality enhancements of the local infrastructure facilities and buildings, improving the resistance potential to the natural calamities.
In turn, Mr. Tanaka emphasized serious investment interests of the “Tokyo Rope” and highlighted the deep experience of the company in production and construction of the rockfall protection structures, avalanche and mudflow defensive facilities, guardrails, and noise abatement ramparts. Mr. Tanaka expressed strong assurance that the products of the “Tokyo Rope” would meet a high demand and popularity on the Kyrgyzstan’s market. Additionally, Mr. Tanaka noted active contribution of the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan Mr. Aidarbekov in organizing the aforesaid event.
Finally, in the concluding section of the Forum counterparts expressed deep gratitude and hope for the long-term, productive cooperation and joint implementation of the investment projects, thus inducing a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
